Desire as Path to Gratitude

Cicero had said, “Gratitude is not only the greatest of the virtues but the parent of all others.” And while gratitude is a powerful feeling or attitude in acknowledgment of a benefit that one has received or will receive, one being mentioned frequently especially at this time of the year, what precedes it? What paves the path for one to experience gratitude?

In my estimation gratitude usually is an accompanying thought or state of mind resulting from a circumstance, event, interaction or experience of some sort, which manifested something positive or enriching in one’s life.

These events can happen arbitrarily, or more likely as a direct outcome of one’s focused and concentrated thought, attention and action. According to the “Law of Attraction”, these thoughts, which are nothing else but bundled, focused energy, can be the catalysts for the manifestation of the events mentioned earlier, which then in turn spawn feelings of gratitude.

By setting your intention and desire upon that which you would like to see manifested in your life, you are sending concentrated signals to the ethers, which then are being co – created between you and the Universe into “reality”.  And yes, there are probably as many theories and beliefs contemplating this process as there are people on this planet, and surely you have yours. Whichever these may be, please consider the possibility of what is coming your way, or to you, is doing so in direct response to the vibrations you are sending out, due to the thoughts you are thinking.

The law of Attraction states that you get what you vibrate. Consequently strive to always be conscious of what you ask for, because you are going to get it… Watch your thoughts. On average about 65% of our thoughts are either negative or redundant. Strikingly it takes about the same energy to think positive thoughts as it does to think negative thoughts. For some goofy reason though we seem to gravitate toward the negative… So by sending out negative and doubtful thoughts, or limiting beliefs, you cannot expect a positive result. It defies Law. A doubt is the result of a limiting belief and sometimes all that is necessary to change a belief is to become consciously aware of it and have a DESIRE to think or behave differently. Henry Ford said: “To see a thing clearly in the mind makes it begin to take form.”

So it all begins with awareness and a heightened state of consciousness. Mindful living is just the awareness and ability how you choose to experience life in this very moment. The sound of the gongs serves as a psycho-acoustic gateway to heightened states of awareness and consciousness. Sound is fuel, and the ear is a portal for charging the nervous system. High frequency sounds are charging sounds that nourish the brain because they consist of a greater number of vibrations, and thus have a higher energy content. The next time you participate in a guided gong meditation, experience for yourself how the different frequencies affect your system.

As we are about to embark into a new year, following are some seed thoughts for you to consider, remember and meditate on as often as you can. Incidentally January 1, 2014 will mark a new moon. A great portal for planting vibrational seeds with a heightened potential of coming to fruition by the following full moon, which happens to be on the 16th of January.

The future is born in the unknown and nowhere else. Miracles are natural. When they do not occur something has gone wrong….be aware and examine your thoughts. In life the right road is simple, clear and distinct. There is nothing vague about it. The more one follows the path exploring the mystery of life, the more life becomes revealed to one. Straight and narrow is the path, waste no time.
